AND
FEATURED AGAIN

“Music that takes you airborne. I was riveted by
the band”

“This band is popular and quite rightly so.
Accomplished and polished they produced a smooth set with varied
rhythms featuring some really exciting playing. Complex rhythms on the
guitar, some really haunting fretless bass work (and the skeleton
upright was pretty interesting too) all held together with immaculate
drumming and percussion. The band played virtually non-stop for over an
hour, all infectious foot tapping (no, probably more hip-swaying)
stuff. Really good long grooves.”

“To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect.
Certainly not 3 funk-tight tracks rippling with Latino groove. The band
has established itself in the UK amongst aficionados of world music.
Nottingham Songs Pt1 suggests that the step into the mainstream appeal
is but a short one. They must be blistering live.”

“It’s hardly common to find a samba act vying
for a place in the charts. I’m sure the shimmering production and gloss
on Nottingham Songs Part One will help Mat Andasun and his catalogue of
musicians. I Could Be Your Lover, with a wave of soaring horns and
frenzied drums, is infectious, hip-shifting stuff. Basement Jaxx would
love their poppier stuff to sound like this. But it will be Mat
Andasun’s live shows that make this band.”

“Its a very well put together CD. The Brazilian
song feel is the strongest in the mix and it’s a really nice piece of
work. Should be a great live experience.”
