Mat Andasun Band........
The band plays my music live and also features
on my studio recordings.
I am extremely lucky to have such great
musicians to play with, who continue to submit
themselves to my ludicrous arrangements – here
they are:

Dave Sturt (Bass,
laptop & backing vocals)
Dave
has worked with Gong, The Steve Hillage band,
Bill Nelson, Isaac Guillory, Michael Kamen, Dave
Gilmour and Andy Sheppard amongst others and has
composed themes and incidental music for film
and television. He is currently also working
with Theo Travis in the dark ambient project
Cipher and is recording a new album with
Jade Warrior. Musician magazine described Dave
as a “remarkable bass player".

Nick Daines (Keyboards)
Nick balances a
mild obsession with mellotrons and all vintage
keyboards with a love for salsa piano. A regular
on the Nottingham gigging scene, Nick has played
at more venues than he can remember, including
Ronnie Scott’s, Manchester Jazz Festival and the
East Midlands hat trick of Royal Concert Hall,
Derby Assembly Rooms and De Montfort Hall.

Tony Sykes (Percussion)
Nottingham legend,
Tony has been involved with many latin jazz and
latin fusion projects over the last 25 years,
gigging all over the UK & Europe (mainly as a
sax player). 10 years ago he started to get
more serious about conga playing, in particluar
Afro Cuban styles. His past & present
bands include Vamos, L4TN, Carlos Lounge, My
Family Tree, Salmagundi, Tumbao, Eastville &
Melindy.

Adam
Watkins (Percussion)
Adam joined The
Nottingham School of Samba just over 10 years ago
kicking off a passion for Brazilian music and
percussion. He went on to study Brazilian
folkloric and bateria music with Raz (OVM, Inner
Sense) and other teachers and is currently
director of NSoS. As well as trying to hit
things at the right time he teaches Capoeira in
Derby and Burton on Trent. He programs
speadsheets for a hobby and likes boats and owls.
